Managing Your Emotions As A Teen
Focus, Identify, Respond, Evaluate (F.I.R.E) to help manage your anger.
A program for middle- and high-school students who want to learn about ways to manage their angry responses to life’s problems. Participants will learn how to:
Identify and understand their thoughts, feelings and actions
See how their behavior affects their lives and those around them
Discuss with others the ways they can face their challenges
Participate in activities that will teach them how to deal with those challenges

I.G.N.I.T.E
Inspire, Grow, Nurture, Imagine, Thrive and Encourage
Children seem to face so many challenges, and they often get overwhelmed when they attempt to navigate those struggles. Anger is a common response to overwhelmed kids. I.G.N.I.T.E. tools include:
Participants will learn how to:
Identifying anger signs and triggers
Coping skills to manage emotional regulation
Activities are designed to assist children in addressing challenges they face
Classes are offered year-round for elementary school-aged youth
Parent attendance is mandatory; parent and child will learn effective techniques in managing the child’s emotions
Active Parenting – First Five Years
Receive education in how to bond as well as prevent problems and encourage positive behavior. These classes are for parents of children ages 0-5 years old.
Participants will learn how to:
Learn about ages and stages regarding the development of your child
Explore parenting styles, learning different techniques with different children
Discover the importance of building a bond with your young child
Identify and help prevent problem behaviors
See how to encourage positive behavior including choices and consequences
Learn parent self-care techniques
Get prepared for the school years for both you and your child including learning in a school environment
Positive Action
Learn ways to improve your family communication and how you treat each other. This program is for families who want to improve communication and their relationships. There are two program groups: one for children ages 6 to 11 and another for youth ages 12 to 18.
Families will learn:
Better ways to talk to each other, trade ideas and let others know how you’re feeling
The importance of treating each other with respect and kindness
How to use positive actions to build self-esteem and stronger relationships with the whole family
At each session, the parents and children meet with their own groups and then come together as a family to work on their new skills
Cooperative Parenting through Divorce or Separation
Learn ways to make the best choices for your child. For parents who are getting divorced, or already are separated, and looking for ways to provide the best possible future for your children.
Our staff will help parents to:
See how conflicts between the parents affect the development of their child
Identify and control the ways they contribute to the conflict
Manage their anger, communicate better and solve their own conflicts
Keep both parents active in a child’s life
